Simple. Functional. Herringbone. That’s what the Jumpman Hustle brings to the table in the traction department.

There’s nothing fancy here but there doesn’t need to be. The herringbone keeps you stuck to the floor and provides excellent traction in all areas of the shoe.

This is great for indoor and outdoor play, making these shoes quite versatile.

One compliant is that dust can clog up the narrow grooves. If your court isn’t the cleanest then you may experience some wiping. Otherwise, you’ll be good to go.

Support isn’t excellent in this shoe but it isn’t bad. The Jumpman Hustle feature a small internal torsional shank with a fairly wide base. There is also a small heel counter to cup the back of the foot.

Lateral support is somewhat lacking, but it will likely only be noticed by those with fast, hard, and heavy movements.

The Jumpan Hustle uses a basic textile bootie for its main build. It has elastic bands at the entry of the tongue area for easy slide on access.

Nylon lace loops are found under the synthetic vinyl and synthetic patent leather hood. The zipper lets you access the laces but covers them up nicely during play so you’ll never have to worry about a shoe coming untied.

We can’t complain too much because of the generous price tag this shoe carries. However, the lower-end materials don’t always feel the best. They allow your foot to slide a bit and you can feel them stretching, which can be distracting during play.

Still, the lower material quality keeps the shoe affordable while ensuring performance doesn’t suffer.

Like the Air Jordan 13 and 14 Retro, the Jumpman Hustle is springy underfoot and maintains a low profile height for great court feel.

It features a forefoot Zoom Air unit inside of a lightweight Phylon midsole. Though basic, we love the Phylon used in the midsole. It feels great.

Even though on paper this shoe doesn’t appear to be the most comfortable, it really is. Trust us. Slide it on and see for yourself.

Sole Decision

The Jordan Jumpman shoe is a great choice for ballers on a budget.

Though it uses materials that aren’t top-notch, it makes up for it with excellent performance and a reasonable price tag.

Add in that you can use these inside and outside and you have a great all-around shoe.
